Move your body.
I know itโs hard sometimes.
Stillness being familiar and safe.
Humans taught to be warriors made of cement and smooth marble.
Beautiful. Glorious. Still.
Taught to contract.
Hold everything in and look fine.
Hide every emotion inside.
Be tough. Strong. In line.
Nobody wants to hear you whine.
*
But your body, so wise.
Will keep that stored emotion
Itโll store it in your muscles
In your body
In your mind
You are an animal.
You are meant to be wild
To fuck, to sleep, to eat
To roar and wail when things threaten or scare you
You werenโt meant to be still when a tiger tears at your limbs
You werenโt meant to be still when someone you love shatters youโre heart
You werenโt meant to be still when the cost of sitting in an office all day makes you want to explode
You were meant to make noise, to sweat, to move, to respond, to cry, to be wild
To make a fucking mess
And then be done with it.
You can do it at home.
It can be our little secret.
But do it.
Tear at your pillows, tantrum, growl.
Youโll be frozen at first. Because thatโs what weโre taught.
But make noise and show up and then see what comes up.
You can be wild and professional
You can be wild and powerfully in control
You can be in your nature and wear parts of civilization by choice- decorate yourself with it. And donโt forget whatโs underneath.
You can be both.
